Christine earned her Certificate of Mastery in Reflexology from the Seattle Reflexology & Massage Center in November 2011. In January 2013 she became certified by the American Reflexology Certification Board (ARCB), which conducts lengthy written and hands-on tests to ensure that reflexologists across the country are held to the same high standards. When Washington State law changed in July 2013, requiring reflexologists to be licensed for the first time in our state, Christine was among the first people to be officially state certified. She has received instruction by teachers from the Puget Sound Area as well as respected instructors from California, Florida, Spain and Denmark. Christine is also a member of the Washington Reflexology Association (WRA) and the Reflexology Association of America (RAA). Christine served as Treasurer for the WRA in 2013-15.
In 2014, Christine earned her Reiki Practitioner certificate from the Reiki Training Program in Seattle, under the direction of Eileen Dey Wurst. This energy work has changed her approach to working with clients whether they receive reiki, reflexology or massage.
In October 2015, Christine became a certified aromatherapist, working with essential oils. She completed the 180 hour continuing education course at Bastyr University. Not only do oils add a pleasant scent to a session, they can also be a powerful trigger for memory and emotion. Many studies indicate that plant essences also have their own healing properties. Her interest in this fascinating field will continue as self study for years to come.
In 2016, Christine graduated the massage therapy program at Northwest Academy for Healing Arts so that she can offer Thai Foot Massage, or combine leg massage with reflexology because so many issues of foot pain are related to tight calves, hamstrings or hip imbalances. (#MA60724041)
Overtime, Christine has also found great pleasure in teaching these techniques to others and regularly conducts one-day classes at the WRA, Seattle Reflexology & Massage Center and Northwest Academy for Healing Arts.
